Purchase
AXA FlexiDrive is an add-on coverage for comprehensive AXA SmartDrive Enhanced motor insurance. Using telematics technology and innovation, it is the first telematics motor insurance in Malaysia that rewards you with up to 20% safe driving discount on your annual motor insurance net premium, automatic accident alert and assistance as well as 24/7 vehicle security and theft recovery at no additional premium. Upon signing up, a telematics device will be installed to your vehicle to record your driving behaviour and provide you with enhanced safety and security on the road.
All comprehensive AXA SmartDrive Enhanced motor insurance policy holders are eligible. You can sign up for AXA FlexiDrive when you renew your policy with us. If you are not an existing comprehensive AXA SmartDrive Enhanced policy holder, you can sign up for AXA FlexiDrive when you purchase your next motor insurance policy with us.
Once you have signed up, you will receive a call from our telematics partner, CSE to schedule the installation of the telematics device. You have 30 days to complete the installation and activate the telematics device upon commencement date of your policy. You may opt to have the installation to be carried out at our authorised installer’s shop or at your preferred location. There will be call-out charges for installation at your preferred location.

Safe driving discount is calculated daily and accumulated monthly based on your driving style, speed and mileage. You can enjoy up to 20% safe driving discount on your annual motor insurance net premium (after deduction of NCD). The discount will be credited to your bank account 14 days after the end of your policy term. You may also check your monthly accumulated safe driving discount in AXA FlexiDrive mobile app.

There are 3 categories of driving style provided to help you better understand your driving behaviour:

Green - safe driver
Yellow - average driver
Red - poor driver

There is no penalty for poor driving style and instead you will be provided with personalised driving tips.

There are no additional charges when you sign up for AXA FlexiDrive — just pay your usual premium for comprehensive AXA FlexiDrive Enhanced motor insurance and enjoy all the value added benefits. However, there would be a refundable deposit of RM70 for the telematics device. The device installation is free of charge.
Unfortunately no.AXA FlexiDrive must be opted at the start of your comprehensive AXA SmartDrive Enhanced motor insurance policy commencement.
AXA FlexiDrive is an optional add-on coverage for comprehensive AXA SmartDrive Enhanced motor insurance policy holders. You can decide to include this benefit when purchasing or renewing your comprehensive AXA SmartDrive Enhanced motor insurance policy. How do I access the AXA FlexiDrive mobile app?

Install the AXA FlexiDrive mobile app from the iPhone App Store or Google PlayStore.

You will receive your username and passcode via sms immediately after the telematics device installation is completed, key in these information.

It is a device that is installed into your vehicle to record your mileage, speed, and driving style.

There is a refundable deposit of RM70 for the telematics device. The device installation is free of charge.

You may opt to have the device installed at our authorised installer’s shop or at your preferred location. There will be call-out charges for installation at your preferred location.

Yes, you have 30 days to complete the installation and activate the telematics device upon commencement date of your policy, failing which your endorsement will be automatically cancelled.
The telematics device is normally mounted over the vehicle’s battery. However should you choose to have a more concealed installation, you can opt for the optional embedment, which will incur an additional charge of RM70 to be paid directly to our service provider.
Yes, the device installation is very simple and can be installed into all vehicles.
No. The installation is fast, simple and performed by our appointed installer.
Yes, you may install the telematics device but you will not be able to access and utilise AXA FlexiDrive mobile app feature.
Yes, the telematics device is water resistant with an IP65 certification.
Green indicates that the device battery is in good condition. Red indicates that the device has been disconnected or there is a problem with the reserve battery.
You will receive a notification if the device is being removed. Kindly ensure that the device is reinstalled before you collect your vehicle.

Yes. The system will automatically generate a device disconnection alert to our 24/7 Secure Operating Centre. Our Centre will contact you for verification and assist you in vehicle recovery.
Data, Scoring Mechanism & Customer Support
Your telematics data will solely be used to determine your safe driving discount and to identify your vehicle’s location if it is stolen.
The device comes with an in-built accelerometer and GPS/GNSS antenna that records your driving style, mileage and speed on a trip-by-trip basis. Your driving style is determined based on how smoothly you drive, how you take your corners, brake and speed. Each trip is recorded from the time you start your vehicle, until the engine is switched off.
All records are being managed by an independent third party service provider. We will only extract the necessary information required for analysis purposes (eg. safe driving discount calculation).
Your policy will be automatically converted to comprehensive AXA SmartDrive Enhanced motor insurance and all benefits under AXA FlexiDrive will no longer apply.
Driving behaviour will only be calculated for trips with distance of more than 400m and those that have GPS signal coverage so that the score is not compromised.
No, you can only access the application through smartphone.
